We drive to the LOS ANGELES airport.

At 1:30 pm we catch the shuttle that takes us from the rental company to the airport terminal.

We are alone in the shuttle.

The protection measures are set up to remain very far from the driver.

We enter a deserted airport.

Almost all the flights have been cancelled. There is one flight to Japan and ours to France.

All the stores are closed.

Only 1 restaurant allows us to eat before the departure.

While we still haven't found neither mask nor gloves nor gel during the last weeks, we observe a merry-go-round next to us. Several Asian passengers are taking turns to take out their full wetsuits, diving masks and gloves for the flight.

It is thus accompanied by these extra terrestrial that we will make the flight.

The situation is very anxiety-provoking but we will be particularly well received and taken care of by the volunteer staff of the crew who will do everything to make our flight as stress-free as possible.

Landing at 10:40 am in Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Our trip is not over yet.

We are lucky enough to be reunited with one of our sons who came by car to pick us up from Brussels.

We are really alone on the highway.

The crossing of the French-Belgian border will be done with justification of our status: travel certificate, Belgian residence permit, plane tickets.

We arrived home in the early afternoon, tired but happy to be home in good health.

There is nothing left to do but wait for the return to normalcy to continue our American journey.

... Premature end of our journey 1- USA 2020
