Day 26
Closing of the USA/EUROPE borders: it is indeed a Friday the 13th!
World psychosis with the Coronavirus.
France : closing of schools, universities ...
Spain in quarantine this day from 3:30 pm,
The USA declares a State of Emergency.
And us, waiting in our truck.
8 hours: we present ourselves as agreed at the FREIGHTLINER garage but, the truck still gives signs of dysfunctions.
We wait, wait, and wait again then end up leaving by car for a 3rd night of hotel for lack of being able to recover our truck in good state;
The rates of the hotels have more than doubled with the approach of the weekend. We change place of lodging for another one in SAINT GEORGES where we will be able to study the continuation of our trip.
At our arrival at the HOTEL RED LION CONFERENCE CENTER, we have the impression to arrive in a vacation camp. Indian or Mexican atmosphere? The room is actually a very spacious suite. We spread out our maps and think about the next step.
Annick takes advantage of the laundry room to do the laundry.
Meal at Viva CHIKEN (Peru).
And a well deserved night: the rain which fell all day long made us feel better.

Day 27
Back to FREIGHTLINER in HURRICANE to finally get our repaired truck.
Unfortunately we did not make yet 1 Mile that the indicator light is lit again: the breakdown is not always solved!
Back to the starting point.
The repair is not possible before Monday for lack of availability of the mechanics.
After 1 hour of test we decide all the same to leave direction KANAB where we plan to spend 2 nights and to visit BRYCE CANYON and ANTELOPE before Rendez-vous Monday to redo the alignment of the trains of the truck.
The road is splendid, in particular our arrival at KANAB.
We desperately tried to find an accessible BLM but the rains made access impossible.
After lunch in the middle of nowhere (Grand Staircase Escalante) we turn back to an RV park more adapted to the weather.
We come back on our tracks and decide to spend the night at the Hitch-N-Post RV Park
Much less fun to be parked but, happy to be posed.
There are some RV in the Park but we will not cross anybody.
We take advantage of having access to the water to do the traditional but essential washing and filling of water.
We will use the end of the day to plan our visits.
KANAB is located in the heart of several tourist sites.
To our great surprise we discover that Navajo Nation which manages the sites of the area closed the Parks of which they have the management because of Coronavirus.
ANTELOPE is thus closed, Monument Valley idem, as for BRYCE CANYON the access seems difficult considering the weather (snow).
The question of a return home comes up again.
We decide nevertheless to plan tomorrow the discovery of BRYCE CANYON.
A quick evening with the pleasure of contacting our friends Elisabeth and Serge who have just arrived in LOS ANGELES for 3 weeks and that we will try to find on Wednesday evening.
