On the road to COCONINO National Forest - Arizona

Day 32

Full of water at the PARIA BLM and we head for PAGE where we hope to meet up with our friends Elisabeth and Serge who are passing through the area.

In PAGE we find a MAVERIK gas station where we can empty our DUMP Water. Here we go again for several days of autonomy.

Full of Diesel without the Arizona surtax this time!

We settle in a BLM style camp in front of GLENN CANYON : BEEHIVE CAMPSITE - A2.

We are almost alone in front of a magnificent landscape.

We go to the local Walmart where there is an end of the world atmosphere. We are few customers and most of them are Indians and present with several children.

Everyone is trying to avoid everyone else.

Corona atmosphere.

The shelves are not filled. Always shortage of hydro alcoholic gel, masks, gloves, toilet paper, sweetbreads, pasta? Few meat but vegetables and fruits are still available.

For our greatest joy we manage to find Elisabeth and Serge at the end of the afternoon for an aperitif in the RV.

Very happy to find them we have a lot of things to tell each other, we will keep our social distance Corona oblige!

We wonder with them about the validity of our return to Belgium.

I am very skeptical about the return by plane and Vincent worried about the legality of our stay.

Restaurant in the evening at BIG John's where we enjoy a tasty meat. Alone at the beginning of the evening, we were joined by the guests and the bride and groom of a wedding. It was a sad party, but who cares!

We leave our friends with regret hoping to find them quickly in less anxious conditions.

Back to the camp for a fresh night.
