PETRIFIED National Forest - Arizona

Wake up at 8 am with the song of the birds.

Veiled sun.

We leave to discover PETRIFIED National Forest

Once again, the place doesn't look like anything we had imagined (at least me). As usual since the beginning of the epidemic of Corona, the entry in the Park is very easy. The control of our card is done remotely and the handing over of the map without contact with the Ranger. We are once again alone in the World... or almost.

This Park is again sensational.

The petrified tree trunks are impressive to observe.

The visit by the South is very fast since the road is closed after 7 Mi to CRYSTAL FOREST.

An unspoken rule seems to be installed in the Parks: we avoid each other and wait patiently our turn to go from one point to another without contact. It is relatively fast because we are not numerous to visit the places.

End of the morning. We are back to the camp and we go to the souvenir store of our camp. The "boss" that we saw the day before keeps us at a distance in her store full of petrified wood in slices sold at huge prices (500 to 1000$)!

For lack of coffee we leave with postcards.

Road towards PETRIFIED NORTH.

Stop to eat - SNAK only in DRIVE.

HOOLBROOK dead city. Little traffic except trucks and RV.

Entrance by the North of PETRIFIED on the desert side.

The colors are marvelous.

Back to the camp after provisioning at Safeway. Still no hydro-alcoholic gel nor masks, nor gloves.

Rationing of the sale to 2 items of the same category. Maximum of 2 gallons (9 liters) of milk and 2 gallons of water / consumer.

We make do!

We are always anxious to make stops at these germ exchange locations.

We remain vigilant and clean the hands very frequently hoping that it will be enough to move away the risk.

I treat my sore throat with my magic potion: garlic macerated in honey + rum. We do what we can with what we have (much better than the original version garlic in juniper)

Evening film after soup & pasta.

This evening we will be 2 RV on the camp.

The others will have preferred the other side of the carpark posted PK Free RV. So much better for us!
